Tonight we lost a friend - Tad van der Weele to cancer. He was too young, but the disease was so fast. You can see his art at his
website. We've always thought he was the best artist in town. And he was certainly one of the most giving, caring people we befriended in our little community. His Buddhist beliefs give hope to his future, and we're left to be support for his spouse, Patrick (who's a workaholic like me).

Sorry about your loss, Rob. I visited his site-- his work is very inspired.
My dear Tad who accomplished so much while here and has left this life much too soon. For twenty years we had a beautiful friendship and yet it was not nearly enough time. You introduced me to Dinah Washington, Potato Leek Soup, and so many other things. Someday we'll be together again and yes, we'll have that martini, maybe two! Rest in peace my dear, sweet man, you've certainly shown me what life is all about.
Patrick, you have a rough road ahead but know that I and all of your many friends love you deeply and will provide whatever support we can.
Peace and blessings,
Brian Silkworth
