My fancy KitchenAid, which is one of the more expensive models, is starting to sound like its on its last leg. I checked the warranty and they will cover it for one year. Guess when I bought it - one year and two weeks! Grumbles very loudly!
That sucks Rob. I use my Kitchenaid pretty much daily and it's still going strong after 8 years. Of course 6 of those 8 years had less stress on the Kitchenaid because I used the 20 qt. for the tougher jobs (and the 60 qt. for large volume doughs) at my previous job and have a 20 qt. at my current job to take on the heavy stuff. Maybe that's the difference. I'm debating another one anyway because sometimes 2 would be really convenient but so far I've been too frugal (ok, cheap) to do it.
I sometimes wonder how appliances know exactly when to quit. Who gave them a copy of the guarantee? How do they know the date? If we turn the clocks back, will it fool them?
Hmm, I wonder what the best thing to do is- write down the expiration of the warranty on a sticker that very clearly shows, then the moment it doesn't work well a month before that date, just sent it in for servicing anyway? :)
